The year is 2143, the two-hundredth anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, the heroic, doomed attempt by Jewish prisoners to rebel against their Nazi oppressors. In order to make the celebration a success, the Uprising Committee has brought over Lincoln Howard Campbell, Jr., a surviving relative of an American spy who infiltrated and fought the Nazi hierarchy. Lincoln is happy to go along for the ride, imagining his appointment as pageant Grand Marshal will amount to presiding over enjoyable, heartening ceremonies.
